If you are searching for lymphatic drainage cost in Cardiff, you will probably find that prices are hard to compare. Some appointments are longer than others, some include extra techniques, and post-surgery drainage is a different treatment altogether.
We can only speak for our own clinic, so this article sets out exactly what we charge at Simply Contoured Aesthetics in Cardiff Bay, what is included in each appointment, and how to think about the total cost rather than just the price of one session.
Our lymphatic drainage prices
Here is what our lymphatic treatments cost. You can see every price in one place on our pricing page.
- Lymphatic Drainage Massage: £140 a session, or £560 for a course of 5
- Post-Surgery Aftercare: £140 a session, or £550 for a course of 5
- Gut Health Massage: £140 a session, or £560 for a course of 5
- Lymphatic Drainage Facial: £90 a session, or £385 for a course of 5
- Lymphatic Buccal Intraoral Facial: £120 a session, or £300 for a course of 3
- Pressotherapy at our sister studio, Simply Contoured Wellness: £20 a session, with memberships from £50 a month
In every case, a course works out at less than booking the same number of single sessions.
What £140 pays for
Our lymphatic drainage massage appointments are one hour long. Please allow the full hour, because the hands-on treatment time will be slightly less. That leaves room for your consultation, preparation, changing and any aftercare advice you need.
The treatment itself is our Simply Contoured Aesthetic Method™, which combines three things in one session:
- Manual lymphatic drainage, to encourage healthy lymphatic flow
- Brazilian lymphatic drainage techniques, which focus on enhancing the body's natural contours
- Targeted abdominal and gut work, which is particularly popular with clients who experience feelings of bloating or abdominal heaviness
Every treatment is adapted to you, so we focus on the areas and concerns that matter most on the day. Clients come to us to reduce the feeling of water retention and puffiness, to feel lighter, or simply because they find it deeply relaxing.
When you compare our price with anywhere else, it helps to compare what is actually in the appointment, not just the number on the menu.
Single session or a course?
You are very welcome to book a single treatment if you would like to try it on a one-off basis.
That said, consistency is key with all of our treatments. You cannot expect to achieve the full benefits from just one or two sessions. That is why we offer a course of five, which lets you experience the benefits of consistent treatment before moving onto monthly maintenance.
So when you are working out what lymphatic drainage will cost you, think about it in two parts:
- Getting started. Either a single session to see how you feel, or a course of five at £560.
- Keeping it up. For ongoing maintenance and wellbeing, we recommend a lymphatic drainage massage once a month.
If you come to us with a particular concern, we may suggest a different frequency to begin with before you move onto monthly treatments. We will always talk this through with you, so you know where you stand before you commit.
If you are still deciding whether it is worth it for you at all, our article on whether lymphatic drainage massage actually works explains what it can and cannot do.
Post-surgery aftercare is planned differently
If you are having cosmetic surgery such as liposuction, a tummy tuck, fat transfer or a BBL, you need post-operative lymphatic drainage, which is different from a standard lymphatic drainage massage. We are Level 4 Advanced Specialists in Post-Operative Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
A session is £140, or £550 for a course of five. Because recovery needs regular support, it is worth budgeting for the whole plan rather than one appointment:
- Massages can generally begin from three days after surgery, providing your surgeon has cleared you and there are no complications or contraindications.
- As a general guideline, we recommend two massages per week for the first four weeks, then one a week after that, depending on how you are healing.
- A minimum of six to ten treatments may be recommended, although this is only a guideline and some clients need more.
- Most clients begin with a course of five, so we can monitor your progress before deciding on the next stage.
Every recovery is different, so please check with your surgeon before booking and follow their advice on timing. We also recommend booking your aftercare as soon as you have your surgery date, as availability can become limited quickly.
Some clients add 360° red light therapy to their recovery. That is booked separately at Simply Contoured Wellness, and those prices are on our pricing page too.
Other ways to include lymphatic support
Not every lymphatic treatment is a full body massage, and the price reflects that.
Facials. Our Lymphatic Drainage Facial is £90 and works across the face, neck and décolletage, with Wood Therapy tools for extra sculpting. Our Lymphatic Buccal Intraoral Facial is £120 and adds intraoral buccal massage, working from inside the mouth as well as outside, which many clients choose for jaw tension and definition.
Pressotherapy. At £20 a session, this uses specialised compression boots that gently compress the legs in a rhythmic sequence to support circulation and the body's natural lymphatic flow. It can be booked on its own or alongside other lymphatic treatments, and our cancel-anytime memberships start at £50 a month. Pressotherapy is part of Simply Contoured Wellness, so it is booked separately from the aesthetics clinic.
Questions worth asking when you compare prices
Wherever you book, these questions will help you understand what you are paying for:
- How long is the appointment, and how much of it is hands-on treatment?
- Which techniques are included in the session?
- If you have had surgery, is the therapist trained specifically in post-operative lymphatic drainage?
- How many sessions would they suggest for you, and what happens after that?
- What aftercare advice will you be given?
For our part, the aftercare is simple. We recommend drinking approximately 2 to 3 litres of water throughout the day, unless your doctor or another healthcare professional has advised you to restrict your fluid intake, alongside regular movement, a balanced diet and good rest.
Before you book
You do not need to have had cosmetic surgery to book a lymphatic drainage massage, and we welcome both men and women.
If you are recovering from surgery, are pregnant, take regular medication, have lymphoedema or have noticed a new or unexplained swelling, please check with your surgeon or GP before booking. Once you have the go-ahead, we will be happy to talk through a plan and a budget that suits you.
